Goldwings are complicated.

Even a 1980 model has all sorts of wires and electronics and shit, and my favorite; it has a big chunk of metal on the forks to add weight to prevent it from losing control. Took us a good part of the day to get this far. We’re learning, though.

My dad has an ‘80 Goldwing. I like that bike a lot...his doesn’t have any fairings or anything, so it’s kinda like a muscle bike to the CB750’s sport bike. Really nice bike to ride though, very comfortable if you're not too tall; my uncle is 6 foot 3 and was a little cramped, my dad is 5 foot 3, lowered the bike and the seat, and is really comfortable on it. I'm 5 foot 11 and it suits me fine as well.

It was interesting how cruiser-like it looked with the fairings off.

Sorry to disappoint, but the only updates would be which parts have been sold. This thing is 30 different kinds of dead. We keep finding wonderful things like a timing cover held on by zip ties, screws in the spark plug recesses, and a home wiring job using shitty speaker wire.

This bike keeps managing to surprise us. In trying to pull the exhaust apart I broke one pipe in half, where we discovered that the interior was 75% rust by volume.

1) We’re more in the business of salvaging parts from dead motorcycles. It’s the rare bike we buy that’s in good enough condition to fix instead of tear down.

2) That is awesome and I want one now. I’d start with the one we have, but it’s in real bad shape.

I hope that you didn’t have to pay for that bike.
